Kazakhstan has declared 2026 the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. The corresponding decree was signed by the country’s president. The document instructs the government to organize and carry out events as part of the themed year.
In recent years, digitalization and AI have become one of the key topics on the economic agenda: technologies are seen as a tool for improving the efficiency of public administration and business, as well as for developing communications infrastructure and services. Against this backdrop, the number of projects related to the introduction of digital solutions, data processing and process automation in various industries is expected to grow.
Experts note that in practice such initiatives are usually accompanied not only by the launch of new products and pilot projects, but also by stricter requirements for system resilience, data protection and integration quality. At the same time, the main effect of “digital years” is usually determined not by the number of high-profile presentations, but by how deeply the changes reach real processes — from customer service to document management and operations management.
Details on specific areas and event plans are expected to emerge as programs for 2026 are prepared and approved.
