Central Asia is becoming more visible in the IT outsourcing market: clients increasingly include Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the list of countries where they look for teams to develop digital products.
According to representatives of studios and contractors, in recent months the number of requests for web development, mobile apps, UX/UI and support for already launched services has grown.
This is not about one-off projects, but about a steady flow of requests from companies that are expanding the geography of their contractors. Among the most active clients are businesses from Europe and the Middle East: both startups and companies that need to quickly scale development or cover separate blocks of work — for example, frontend, backend, design, payment and analytics integrations.
Teams from Central Asia most often receive requests for applied business products: customer accounts, CRM modules, payment services, online booking, e-commerce, internal management systems and process automation. Demand for ongoing maintenance is growing separately: support, feature development, fixes and regular updates.
Industry representatives also note that clients are increasingly asking for a transparent working format: fixed stages, clear timelines, reporting, documentation and post-release support. Against this backdrop, some contractors are strengthening project management and quality control processes to meet the expectations of international projects.
At the same time, competition for specialists within the region is also growing. Companies working for export more often offer a hybrid format, training and clear career tracks to retain strong developers and designers. For the market, this means a gradual “maturing” of the outsourcing segment: more attention to processes, team stability and long-term contracts.
Amid the overall growth of digital products and the development of remote work, Central Asia is establishing itself as a region that is increasingly considered not only for one-off tasks, but also for long-term partnership in developing and supporting services.
