EAEU Deposit Protection Information Portal

About the project

The EAEU Deposit Protection Information Portal is a single platform that brings together information on deposit insurance in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union: news, legislation, analytics and materials from the joint work of the organizations responsible for deposit protection in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The portal serves two audiences: the public section is open to everyone, while the private workspace is intended for members of the expert and working groups.

The challenge

We needed to bring two very different scenarios together in one interface. Visitors want to quickly find news about their country or topic and move on to the documents. Working group members need to discuss draft opinions, minutes and reports, exchange files and see who replied last and when. At the same time, the site had to look strict and official, as befits the resource of an intergovernmental union.

Home page and news

The home page is built around the news feed: a photo, the countries the story relates to, the date and a headline with a short summary. On the right is navigation by country and area of work, along with an “Analytical materials” block listing PDF studies. Below are two cards for the areas of work, “Harmonization of legislation” and “Cooperation in IT”, showing the number of meetings held and the date of the next one, displayed prominently in a separate panel.

In the news section, filters by country and area of work sit in a horizontal bar above the feed, so switching between “All news”, individual republics and thematic sections takes a single click.

The article page is designed for long reads: a headline, the date, paragraphs with a large photo alongside, a gallery of images that can be enlarged and a highlighted quote block with the author’s attribution.

Workspace

The private part of the portal is organized as a topic-based forum. In the workspace, sections are grouped by body: “Expert group”, “Working group” and “International events”. Inside are work plans, meeting minutes, draft and approved expert opinions, reports and a glossary of terms. Next to each topic, the latest reply is shown: the time, the author and the flag of the country they represent.

Inside a topic, its summary is on the left: the creation date, the number of replies and files, attached documents, the latest version and a version history with the author and date of each one. On the right are the participants’ messages with their organization’s logo, job title and publication date, attachments and a reply editor with formatting and file attachments. This way, the discussion of a document and its versions live in one place instead of being scattered across email.

Result

The portal combines an open information section with a private workspace for experts from different countries. News and materials are easy to filter by country and area of work, and work on documents takes place in topics with version history and clear authorship of every message. The interface supports language selection and maintains a consistent official style across all sections.
