About the project

GameChange is a mobile app for gamers who visit computer clubs. It lets you find a club nearby, check its terms, choose a specific seat in the hall, book and pay for time, and earn bonuses for visits along the way.

The challenge

A trip to a computer club usually starts with a call or a chat: are there free seats, how much is an hour, what hardware do the computers have. We needed to design an app where all of this is visible in advance and booking takes just a few taps. The second goal was to give players a reason to come back — through a system of levels and discounts.

Finding a club

The main screen is a feed of clubs. At the top is a banner with promotions, below it a counter of clubs found and quick filters: a "Map" toggle, "VIP", "Has promotions". The club card is large, with a photo of the hall, the distance to it, a rating and a short line of key parameters: how many seats are free out of the total, the hourly price and whether food is allowed in the hall. The "Book" button is a swipe slider so a booking can't be made by an accidental tap.

If it's easier to navigate by map, the feed switches to it. The user enters an address, sees clubs nearby and can open any of them: the same card appears under the map with the club's address, distance, rating and a booking button.

Booking a seat

The most important screen is the hall layout. Each computer is shown as a separate numbered seat: occupied ones are marked with a lock, the selected one is highlighted in green. If a club has several halls, they are switched with arrows. Below, you choose a date, start and end time, or one of the ready-made presets — "1 hour", "3 hours", "5 hours". The bottom panel immediately shows what the total is made of — the booking fee and the full payment separately — and the specs of the seat: graphics card, monitor size and refresh rate, processor. Payment is confirmed with the same swipe.

Bonuses and rating

For visits, players earn points and level up — from Junior to Master. On the loyalty program screen, a large progress ring shows the current level, the number of points and how much is left until the next discount. Below are the current discount and a leaderboard of friends with their levels so progress can be compared.

We also put these three scenarios — booking, map search and bonuses — into the welcome cards the user sees on first launch.

Result

We designed an app in which the path from "where to play" to a paid seat in the hall fits into a few screens: find a club in the feed or on the map, choose a computer on the layout, set the time and pay. The level program gives clubs a retention tool and gives players a clear benefit from regular visits.
