About the project
A mobile medical app for patients in Kazakhstan that brings together online consultations with doctors, in-person appointments, lab tests and beauty services in one place. Prices in the app are listed in tenge, and doctor and clinic cards show addresses in Karaganda and Astana.
The challenge
A patient who needs a doctor usually has to jump between clinic websites, messengers and calls to the front desk. We needed to design an app where you can start from any point — a symptom, a specific specialist or a clinic — and follow through to a consultation or an appointment. At the same time, the interface had to remain calm and clear for people of any age.
Home screen
The home screen is made up of large tiles grouped by area. The "Clinic" block contains "Online appointment", "In-person appointment" and "Choose a service". "Laboratory" has "My tests", "Interpret tests" and "Get a consultation". A separate "Beauty industry" block leads to plastic surgery, cosmetology and beauty treatments. Above them are a search bar for doctors, services and clinics and a banner offering 24/7 chat consultations with doctors. The header has a "Partner account" button — the entry point for clinics and specialists.
Online appointment
Many patients don't know which doctor to see, so the online appointment screen starts with choosing a symptom: "Sore throat", "Allergy", "Stomach pain" and others. For those who can't decide, there is a separate prominent button "I don't know which specialist I need". Below are subscription specialists, such as a general practitioner and a pediatrician available 24/7, and the general list of doctors.
The consultation takes place in a chat with the doctor. From there you can switch straight to a video or audio call, attach a file and, when finished, close the chat with a dedicated button.
Choosing a doctor and a clinic
The list of doctors by specialty can be sorted by experience, rating, price and location. The card gathers everything that matters for the decision: experience, clinic, address, consultation fee, the doctor's academic degree and category, as well as the rating and a verified profile badge. The "Book" button is right in the card.
Clinics and laboratories have their own pages: a photo of the building, type of facility, opening hours, rating with the number of reviews, description, address, phone and website. The example in the mockup is the page of a clinical diagnostic laboratory.
Result
We designed an app in which a patient can complete the whole journey in one place: choose a symptom or a specialist, compare doctors by clear parameters, get a chat consultation or book an appointment, and work with test results. The partner login and the clinic and laboratory sections make it possible to connect new medical facilities to the service.
